Alignment of the Municipal Road Slope in the Gostynin Region – Safe Transport of Wind Power Plant Components
In the new year, we continue to showcase the unusual applications of our panels. Each project has its unique challenges that require the use of appropriate technologies. This time, our task was aligning the slope of a municipal road in the Gostynin region to enable the safe passage of oversized transports with wind power plant components.Logistical Challenges and Technology Selection
Local roads are often not adapted to handle heavy and oversized transports. In this case, the key challenge was raising and leveling a section of the road to ensure stability and safe passage for vehicles transporting wind power plant structural components. The requirements included:- Raising the road surface by 20 cm over a section of approximately 120 meters.
- Using a stable and temporary surface that does not affect the durability of the existing road infrastructure.
- Quick assembly and disassembly – the entire operation had to take place just before the passage and be completed immediately after the delivery of the components.
Metrum Wooden Road Plates – The Ideal Solution for Temporary Roads
To meet the project requirements, we used Metrum wooden road plates, which are perfect for such conditions. Laid in two layers in a bidirectional arrangement, they allowed for effective raising of the road surface and ensuring its adequate load-bearing capacity. Their key advantages are:- Stability and durability – these plates effectively transfer large loads, which was crucial for oversized transport.
- Ease of assembly and disassembly – allowed for rapid road adaptation before the passage and restoration to its original state right after the transport ended.
- Excellent grip – prevented slipping and increased vehicle safety.
- Eco-friendly solution – wood is a natural material that does not negatively impact the environment and can be reused.
