Construction of a Temporary Road in a Forest Area for the Gas Connection of PGE Energia Ciepła S.A. in Kielce
Is the impossible possible? Yes, it is! Our offer was selected as the most advantageous for the comprehensive construction of an access road for the gas connection construction for PGE Energia Ciepła S.A. in Kielce. This project demonstrates how effectively road plates for rent can be used to create a stable access road even in exceptionally challenging terrain.
The route passed through a forest area, rutted and marshy, which posed a significant challenge both technically and environmentally. An additional aspect requiring special attention was the proximity of the Natura 2000 area, which necessitated the implementation of solutions minimizing the impact on the ecosystem.
Ultimately, we built over 1.6 km of temporary road along with maneuvering areas, which enabled efficient construction work. After several months of use, the entire infrastructure was dismantled, and the area was returned to nature.
Technical Challenges and the Need for Road Plates for Rent
The construction of the temporary road in this case required the application of effective infrastructure solutions to meet the following challenges:
- Marshy and soft terrain – it was necessary to harden the surface in a way that allowed the transport of heavy equipment while maintaining the stability of the ground.
- Minimizing environmental impact – the route ran near the Natura 2000 area, requiring the use of temporary solutions that did not permanently interfere with the ground structure.
- Quick execution and dismantling – the road was intended only for the construction period, so it was crucial to use materials that could be easily removed and reused.
- Protection of the tree root system – traditional ground stabilization methods could negatively impact the vegetation, so we employed technologies that preserved the natural soil structure.
To meet these requirements, we used road plates for rent, which allowed for the creation of a durable, stable, and eco-friendly surface.
Wooden Road Plates Metrum
The primary element of the surface was Metrum road plates, which proved to be perfect in difficult forest conditions. Their use allowed for the quick construction of the road without permanently interfering with the ground.
The main advantages of using Metrum plates in this project:
- high load capacity, enabling the passage of heavy construction equipment,
- even load distribution, which prevented excessive subsidence of the surface in marshy terrain,
- possibility of multiple assembly and disassembly, which allowed for efficient restoration of the area to its original state,
- protection of the tree root system, avoiding degradation of the natural soil.

Implementation Effects – What Benefits Did the Temporary Road Provide?
Thanks to the use of road plates for rent, we were able to:
- ensure safe access to the construction site, enabling smooth operation,
- avoid permanent environmental interference, allowing the area to be restored to its natural state,
- create a stable surface even in marshy terrain, eliminating the risk of equipment getting stuck,
- conduct a smooth road dismantling, which allowed for an efficient conclusion of the investment without harming the surroundings,
- reduce construction costs, by using road plates for rent instead of building permanent infrastructure.
Summary – Why Rent Road Plates for Temporary Road Construction?
Renting road plates is an economical and ecological solution that proves effective in challenging terrain conditions, such as forests, marshy areas, or protected zones. In this project, the use of Metrum plates enabled safe access to the construction site and quick road dismantling, minimizing the impact on the environment.
