Temporary ramp at Tarczyński Arena Stadium – first entry of a truck and crane onto the stadium field
For the first time in history, Tarczyński Arena Stadium in Wrocław witnessed the entry of a truck with a trailer and a mobile crane onto its field. This was made possible by an innovative solution in the form of a temporary ramp that we designed and built last year.
Our goal was to create a safe and durable structure that would allow heavy equipment to enter without risking damage to the stadium’s surface. After a series of tests and optimizations, we implemented a system enabling the passage of full-size trucks and cranes, significantly expanding the organizational capabilities of the stadium. This solution, among other things, will allow for the preparation of infrastructure for the Dawid Podsiadło concert, which will take place in June 2024.
Technical challenges and the need for a ramp
Football stadiums are not adapted for the movement of heavy vehicles, so implementing this solution required careful planning and testing. The key challenges that needed to be addressed included:
- Protection of the stadium field – it was necessary to use a system that evenly distributed the pressure of vehicles and prevented surface damage.
- Safe entry for heavy equipment – the ramp had to withstand the pressure generated by the mobile crane and full-size trucks while ensuring adequate stability.
- Quick assembly and disassembly – the structure had to be easy to install and remove after the event to avoid disrupting the schedule of other events.
- Compliance with stadium standards – the solution had to meet the technical requirements of the facility and not interfere with its permanent infrastructure.
